Job summary

San José State University is seeking a Workflow Coordinator to lead the daily distribution workflow, ensure timely deliveries, and oversee secure handling of campus packages. You will guide staff, train student workers, and coordinate routes under the supervision of the Distribution Services Manager.

Responsibilities include tracking shipments, liaising with carriers, and generating basic reports on inbound/outbound activity to support efficient campus logistics and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a storeroom or warehouse handling receipt, storage and issuance of supplies/equipment.
• Valid driver's license required; defensive driver training completed after hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily in/outbound workflow for campus deliveries and routes
• Schedule route coverage by maintaining staff and student schedules
• Organize incoming parcels and freight for efficiency and accuracy
• Act as department contact for carrier scheduling needs
• Receive, inspect and document inbound parcels and freight
• Note and report discrepancies or damages
• Ensure outbound shipments are staged and scanned
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading
• Maintain tracking system data and user locations
• Collaborate with vendor/IT to update scanners and computers
• Provide reports on carrier-related issues such as arrival times
• Lead staff in warehouse processes and train on routes and tracking
• Assign support staff in response to absenteeism or delays
