Job summary

Seattle Central College is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic- Locksmith to join the Facilities and Plant Operations team. The role focuses on installing, repairing, and managing locking systems and access controls, while performing journey-level maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems.

Expect a 40-hour week, primarily 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential evening/weekend work. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead key control activities, troubleshoot campus

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and completion of a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in building maintenance, repair work, or related trades.
• Possession of a valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, re-key, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic locking systems and access controls.
• Manage key control systems: issuance, tracking, and secure access management.
• Inspect and maintain locking systems and access control equipment for safety and reliability.
• Perform journey-level maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings to execute maintenance and construction projects.
• Develop cost estimates and provide practical repair options for projects.
