Job summary

El Paso Community College is seeking a Library Circulation Specialist to manage the full range of circulation functions on site, supervise part-time staff and work-studies, and provide friendly public service.

The role covers lending, holds, reserves, and resource sharing, plus handling patron inquiries, equipment maintenance, shelving, and catalog assistance. Evening and weekend availability is required to support on-campus operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
• Effective customer service and public relations skills.
• Effective analytical, statistical, and report-building skills.
• Experience working with automated library systems.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to operate audio-visual equipment, computers, and various office machines.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collegially in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full range of circulation duties using the automated library system.
• Supervise part-time staff and student workers on campus.
• Handle lending, borrowing, holds, transfers and resource sharing.
• Provide general library information and assist users with internet/catalog databases.
• Assist with training and scheduling of student workers and part-time staff.
• Prepare reports and maintain statistics as requested.
• Assist with purchase orders, invoices and inventories.
• Support library programming and special projects.
