Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking an Assistant, Senior Library to coordinate circulation services and staff in a highly automated library. You will assist patrons, manage desk operations, and maintain statistics in a dynamic environment.

The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent experience, with at least two years in a related library field. You will work across multiple campus locations, training staff and ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; four years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• Two years related work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with directional questions and updating patron information.
• Oversee periodical, reserve, special collections, and circulation projects, stack maintenance, and technology.
• Reconcile library fines, issue receipts, and submit deposits; maintain confidentiality of patron data.
• Open and close the library; monitor maintenance and report issues.
• Coordinate and supervise circulation staff; train staff on devices and procedures.
• Troubleshoot library equipment issues (computers, printers, gate, tablets, and workstations).
• Promote library safety and security; support staff training and onboarding.
• Lead process improvements; participate in teams and projects.
