Job summary

University Security Department seeks a vigilant officer to provide safety and security presence on campus on a 12-hour shift basis. You will conduct patrols by vehicle, bicycle, and on foot, respond to incidents, enforce policies, and assist with traffic control during events.

Required are the ability to pass background checks, pass physical and psychological examinations, and work under pressure while maintaining professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old and a U.S. citizen.
• Able to pass physical and psychological examinations.
• Able to work in stressful and hazardous conditions.
• Ability to enforce policies and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security presence on university property on a 12 hour shift.
• Respond to crimes, emergencies, and investigations and prepare required forms.
• Enforce university policies and traffic laws and issue citations.
• Render information services and assist motorists; provide security during events.
• Conduct security checks and secure buildings.
• Perform other duties as directed.
