Job summary

University of Oklahoma is seeking an experienced kitchen worker to prepare, season, cook, and bake foods following standard recipes and portion controls. The role involves adjusting recipes, maintaining quality, and ensuring proper inventory and equipment operation.

The position may require working during university closings, inclement weather, and weekends. Benefits are eligible; a Hepatitis A vaccination or testing and Clean County card may be required. Training and uniforms are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with kitchen equipment and food preparation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, seasons, cooks, fires and bakes food according to recipes and portion controls.
• Modifies recipes and production amounts.
• Ensures optimal quality of food during preparation and service.
• Prepares food items for individual serving with portion control.
• Determines quantities, estimates time, labor and materials for tasks.
• Oversees inventory, food consumption and related records.
• Operates ovens, grills, mixers and other kitchen equipment.
• Adheres to university and Health Department quality standards.
• Advises supervisor on quantities and supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Essential personnel may be required to work during university closures, inclement weather, nights and weekends.
