Job summary

Colorado School of Mines is seeking an HVAC Plant Maintenance Technician II to maintain and troubleshoot a variety of campus HVAC and refrigeration systems. The role offers a stable, full-time schedule on campus with opportunities to work on complex equipment and advanced controls.

The position emphasizes independent work, safety, and collaboration within Facilities Management, with a focus on operational excellence and professional growth for a dedicated team of engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of relevant HVAC service and maintenance experience.
• EPA Refrigerant Certification (attach to application)
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and equipment documentation
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding work in a variety of environments

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC and refrigeration equipment across campus (commercial systems).
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-related issues.
• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Read wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Document work orders and maintenance activities; track labor and repairs.
• Utilize Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word for reporting and tracking.
