Job summary

The University of South Carolina is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair large-scale commercial HVAC and domestic hot water systems across campus. You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance and support system upgrades to ensure year-round reliability.

Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of HVAC controls, BAS, and safety codes, with 2 years of controls experience and Daikin certification preferred; on-call rotation is required and opportunities

Qualifications

• 2 years certified controls experience preferred, e.g. Trane, Metasys, Siemens.
• 2 years Daikin Certification preferred.
• 5 years experience; trade school or apprenticeship helpful; Journeyman Card helpful.
• General knowledge of HVAC controls, BAS, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience with large-scale commercial HVAC systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on complex commercial HVAC systems, domestic hot water and system controls.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and system problems and repair to proper operating order.
• Supervise temporary and seasonal staff performing minor maintenance on equipment.
• Will serve in an after-hours on-call rotation.
