Job summary

The University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law is seeking a Building Maintenance Specialist to operate and maintain HVAC, boiler, and hydronic systems on the Vermillion campus. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure reliable climate control and system performance.

Responsibilities include assisting with campus steam startup/shutdown, repairing hydronic components such as pumps, valves, and motors, and ensuring safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial HVAC / boiler operations is strongly preferred.
• Experience with refrigeration equipment or commercial kitchen equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HVAC / boiler / hydronic systems on USD campus.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs; troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Assist in campus steam start up and shut down as required.
• Repair and maintain hydronic systems on campus including pumps, valves, and motors.
