Job summary

Collin College is seeking a Plant Operations Staff member in McKinney, TX to maintain campus HVAC equipment, boilers, chillers and related systems. You will perform generator service and work during weekends or after hours to ensure safety and operational readiness for staff and students.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, safety awareness, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work flexible hours in a campus setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and two years related experience repairing and installing commercial HVAC or electrical systems.
• Flexible to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability with the college's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair and/or replace assigned HVAC equipment, including pneumatic and electric components.
• Operate, diagnose, analyze, record findings on all HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, pumps, motors, air handling units.
• Ensure the building is ready for staff and students, including lights, general maintenance and HVAC.
• Inspect fire and smoke alarm systems regularly and perform necessary adjustments.
• Perform generator service and maintenance.
