Job summary

GEODIS is seeking an HR professional to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage end-to-end HR processes in North Las Vegas, NV. You will recruit, interview, onboard, and support employees while guiding managers on performance, safety, and policy matters.

You will also handle salary administration and benefits programs, contribute to employee relations, and produce accurate HR reports for regulatory purposes.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in human resources with compliance focus.
  • Experience with recruiting, onboarding and employee relations.
  • Familiarity with government reporting and HR metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with labor laws and reporting requirements.
  • Recruit, interview, test, and hire employees for open positions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation.
  • Track HR transactions and prepare reports for government filing.
  • Train managers on interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, and safety.

Your role on the team:
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Keep track of Personnel transactions such as: new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting
  • Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Manages subordinates, such as Human Resources Coordinator, Human Resources Generalist and/or Manager Campus Human Resources
  • Directs, coordinates, and evaluates the assigned unit(s) by carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work of subordinates to include performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
What you need:
  • Minimum 4 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • PHR, SPHR or GPHR certified preferred.
Bonus if you have:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
