Job summary

Cal Poly Humboldt, part of the CSU system, seeks a Director of Campus Human Resources to lead employee relations, compensation, and front-office operations. The role focuses on ensuring policy compliance, managing CBAs, and guiding HR strategy in a large, diverse university environment.

The Director will oversee a team of HR professionals, advance equity initiatives, and collaborate with campus leadership to support staffing, classification, and pay programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; experience in HR management preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible HR experience; 2 years supervisory experience.
• Education may be substituted by directly related HR experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead employee relations, address workplace conflicts, investigate and address performance issues.
• Oversee compensation and classification programs, salary structures, and equity studies.
• Ensure compliance with CBAs, labor laws, and campus policies; provide guidance on HR matters.
• Manage front office operations and serve as a strategic leader for administrative functions.
• Review independent contractor requests and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Foster an inclusive, customer-service oriented HR environment.
