Job summary

George Mason University Housing and Residence Life seeks a Tours Coordinator to lead a student staff team, manage daily tours, schedule resources, and ensure a high-quality guest experience. You’ll supervise undergraduate HTA staff, coordinate with UA admissions, and oversee training, communications, and event logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
• Experience leading staff, volunteers, or project teams
• Experience in customer service training and staff development
• Experience coordinating complex scheduling and calendars
• Knowledge of admin coordination, event planning, and program mgmt
• Strong customer service principles and ability to promote them
• Excellent interpersonal, spoken and written communication
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders
• Ability to balance multiple programs and meet deadlines
• Must have valid motor vehicle operator's license per policy GMU Vehicle Use Policy 1411

Responsibilities

• Supervises HTA staff and provides coaching to ensure quality visitor experiences.
• Creates schedules for daily, event, and summer tours.
• Attends tours to observe, provide training, and improve service.
• Supports HTA recruitment and selection and marketing efforts.
• Updates training materials and onboarding expectations with Admin Specialists.
• Facilitates monthly HTA meetings and communicates program updates.
• Acts as primary contact for daily tours with rotating Saturdays.
• Reviews HTA timesheets bi-weekly for payroll accuracy
