Job summary

University of New England seeks a dedicated Housekeeper for its Biddeford campuses. The role covers cleaning and routine maintenance across residence halls, classrooms, and offices with a regular schedule and occasional overtime.

Duties include floor care, window washing, bathroom sanitation, and basic equipment operation. The successful candidate will work on a specific campus, perform duties per building needs, and may assist in training helpers while contributing to a safe, clean campus

Qualifications

• General knowledge of routine housekeeping and maintenance.
• Ability to perform tasks in specified sequences.
• Physical ability for heavy custodial work and equipment use.
• Ability to understand written instructions and safety labels.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors (vacuum, sweep, mop, wax, buff) and shampoo carpets.
• Wash windows, walls, chalkboards, and trash cans.
• Dust furniture and fixtures; empty trash; remove waste.
• Sanitize bathrooms; change cleaning shower curtains; replace bulbs.
• Operate cleaning equipment and assist in snow removal.
• Move furniture and assist in training helpers.
