Job summary

Under general direction of the Associate Director of Health Equity and Wellbeing, the Risk and Prevention Specialist has overall responsibility for project oversight, coordination, and implementation of all alcohol and other drug risk reduction initiatives, including the collegiate recovery program.

This position designs and conducts campus-wide risk reduction and health promotion initiatives using environmental management policy and institutional practice change strategies to improve student

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field with focus on health promotion/public health.
• Experience developing, implementing and assessing health promotion efforts in collegiate recovery and alcohol/drug risk reduction.
• Knowledge of health promotion theories and behavior change applicable to college populations.
• Experience with community organizing and training student employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement health promotion initiatives at individual, community, organizational and policy levels.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of health promotion initiatives.
• Conduct needs analysis and research.
• Advise and manage student employees and volunteers.
• Design campus health communications.
