Job summary

Henderson Independent School District is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain safe and attractive district grounds in Henderson, TX. Responsibilities include mowing, edging, watering, fertilizing, pruning, and preparing athletic fields; assisting with sprinkler systems; and ensuring equipment and tools are in safe operating condition.

Applicants must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be able to read written instructions and communicate verbally.

Qualifications

Valid Texas driver's license is required.
Ability to read and understand written instructions.
Ability to communicate verbally.
Ability to operate tractor and landscape equipment.
Ability to operate riding or power mower and power/tools and hand tools.
Experience: None.

Responsibilities

Mow and detail district grounds, including athletic fields.
Care for trees, shrubs, and flowers: watering, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, bed care, weed control.
Plant shrubs and vegetation and prepare athletic fields for games.
Water grounds and apply fertilizer; collect and dispose of leaves and debris.
Inspect, repair, and install sprinkler systems; transport workers and equipment as needed.
Follow safety procedures; perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
