Job summary

Hereford ISD Maintenance seeks a Groundskeeper to maintain safe, attractive district grounds and landscaping. Position requires operating tractors, mowers, trucks, and power tools, and performing basic equipment maintenance.

The role involves reading instructions, verbal communication, and outdoor work in varying weather. A valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record are required. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Ability to communicate (verbally).
• Ability to operate tractor and landscaping equipment.
• Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools.
• Plant shrubs, trees, and flowers. Prune trees and shrubs.
• Spray for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required.
• Operate large power lawn mowers, edgers, hand tools, and large vehicles associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities
• Operates pickup trucks, flat rack trucks, and dump trucks for hauling purposes and for trash and debris removal
• Performs minor maintenance and repair on equipment
• Use of power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district.
• Perform routine groundskeeping tasks as assigned.
• Assist with minor maintenance and repair on equipment as needed.
