Sinclair Community College in Dayton, OH invites applications for a Groundskeeper I (Part-Time) to maintain and enhance the appearance, safety, and functionality of campus grounds and landscaped areas.

Responsibilities include turf care, irrigation system maintenance, sidewalk upkeep, snow and ice removal, and supervision of student workers. The position pays $15.71 per hour with a maximum of 28 hours per week, and offers tuition benefits, advancement opportunities, and pension participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years in landscape maintenance or related coursework/training.
• Valid State of Ohio driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide turf care including mowing, edging, fertilization, and pest control.
• Maintain sidewalks, snow removal and deicing; emergency repairs as needed.
• Repair and maintain irrigation systems; diagnose issues with computerized controls.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment (tractors, mowers, loaders, backhoe, truck, sprayer, forklift, etc.).
• Keep campus grounds free of trash; perform general cleanup.
• Maintain shrub beds, flowerbeds, trees; fertilize, mulch, prune; pest control as needed.
• Supervise student and part-time employees.
• Keep records of chemical applications, equipment maintenance and inventories.
• Other duties: holiday lighting, wildlife control, recycling, trash hauling.
