Job summary

Dickinson College is seeking a Groundskeeper I to maintain the Carlisle campus, including mowing, pruning, irrigation and landscape upkeep. The role may involve leading student labor and coordinating with the grounds team to ensure timely completion of daily tasks.

The position requires a PA Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (or to obtain within six months) and a PA Class B CDL; a forklift certification is also desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Bachelor's in Horticulture or related field preferred (landscaping contracting).
• Must have PA Commercial Pesticide Applicator License Category 23 Parks/Schools Pest Control, or obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains individual campus zone including mowing, fertilizing, irrigating, seeding, aerating, pruning, planting, leaf collection, etc.
• Operates grounds equipment in a safe and professional manner; performs maintenance and minor repairs.
• Trains groundskeeper I and student labor, and assists supervision of work.
