Job summary

Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA seeks a Grounds and Landscaping Specialist to care for athletic fields and campus grounds, performing routine maintenance, fertilization, aerification, pest control and turf management to keep facilities attractive, safe and well‑groomed.

Core duties include mowing, trimming, irrigation system operation and repair, equipment upkeep, snow removal and quick response to weather events; candidates should have an Associate's degree in horticulture or related field,

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in horticulture, turf grass management or agronomy.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Bachelor's degree in horticulture or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains natural and synthetic athletic fields and grounds to a professional level.
• Performs mowing, trimming and other turf grass maintenance in Dickinson Park and Biddle Field.
• Ensures work is performed safely and professionally.
• Attends safety seminars and training as required.
• Maintains pesticide applicator certification and related logs.
• Operates, maintains and repairs irrigation systems and equipment as needed.
• Assists with snow removal and responds to weather-related emergencies.
• Team members must have reliable transportation to the campus under adverse conditions.
