Job summary

The University of Scranton is seeking a Groundskeeper for the 2nd shift to maintain campus landscaping, perform lawn care, snow removal, and other grounds keeping tasks to preserve a safe and attractive university environment.

Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, cleaning, and operating various grounds equipment, with early morning/night hours as required. A High School diploma is required; no experience is necessary. Full-time position in a Jesuit campus setting.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid PA driver's license.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Willing to seek training to enhance or learn new skills.
• Ability to work within the University organization and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Mows and trims grass with power mowers and other power tools.
• Maintains parking lots using brooms and sweepers; cleans and treats oil/grease spots.
• Removes litter and graffiti from walkways and facilities.
• Rakes leaves and grass on all university properties; cleans streets for events.
• Maintains athletic fields and landscapes; plants flowers and shrubs as directed.
• Operates grounds equipment (skid steer, snow plows, power sweepers, etc.) and supports events on campus.
