Job summary

St. Louis Community College is seeking a Supervisor, Grounds to oversee daily maintenance of campus buildings, grounds, and landscaping in Bridgeton, MO. You will coordinate assignments, supervise staff, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will monitor contractors, assist turf and irrigation tasks, oversee equipment maintenance, and enforce safety policies. Strong leadership and reliable on-call availability are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field with a minimum of two years of experience.
• Valid driver's license and insurance.
• Chemical applicators license preferred.
• On call availability 24/7.
• Occasionally works in extreme weather conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to hazards or physical risks.
• Work during weather emergencies is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily assignments to employees involving campus projects, operation, repair and maintenance, indoor/outdoor sanitation, turf care, and room setups.
• Monitors campus work performed by outside contractors.
• Initiates and may assist in the campus turf and irrigation operations, exterior landscape and flower beds, and implements landscape plans.
• Oversees the repair and maintenance of grounds keeping equipment.
• Provides safety training and instruction to personnel on all equipment and supplies utilized in the performance of duties.
• Explains and enforces College policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations.
• Serves as Acting Manager, Facilities in manager’s absence.
• Additional duties as assigned.
