Job summary

The National Sports Center is seeking a Head Groundskeeper / Assistant Director of Campus Operations for Victory Links Golf Course and surrounding facilities. You will lead grounds teams, manage turf, irrigation, and snow operations, and coordinate with Golf Operations and NSC departments.

Role requires a five-year track record in grounds maintenance, supervisory experience, and a valid driver's license; Minnesota pesticide license preferred. On-site position with challenging events year-round.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, Sports Turf Management, Landscape Management, or related field preferred; equivalent combinations considered.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in golf course maintenance or related fields.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of irrigation systems, turfgrass management, synthetic turf maintenance, and winter maintenance operations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Minnesota pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend and represent grounds maintenance operations during Campus Operations meetings.
• Serve as a member of the Campus Operations leadership team and assist the Director of Campus Operations with planning.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to the grounds maintenance team, including staff at all levels.
• Direct daily grounds maintenance for Victory Links Golf Course, athletic fields, and campus grounds.
• Develop, implement, and maintain operating procedures and maintenance standards.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign daily work activities for efficient operations.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules around tournaments, events, and daily campus activities.
• Collaborate with other Campus Operations areas for a coordinated approach to maintenance.
• Interface with staff and NSC departments regarding priorities, event needs, and logistics.
• Partner with Golf Operations to maintain exceptional playing conditions.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for irrigation, landscaping, and snow removal.
• Develop campus-wide snow and ice management plans.
• Monitor weather and adjust staffing to support operations and events.
• Assist Equipment Manager with equipment needs and maintenance scheduling.
• Promote safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
