Job summary

Florida State University seeks a Grounds Superintendent to manage grounds maintenance operations for the Tallahassee campus. You will supervise groundskeepers, mowing crews, spray techs, and other staff, coordinate resources, and ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least four years of related experience, plus a valid driver's license. Ability to work in inclement weather is required, with a 7:00am–3:30pm schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; four years’ experience or equivalent combination.
• Ability to work in inclement weather.
• Valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License (or ability to obtain one on hire).

Responsibilities

• Manage personnel and resources for grounds maintenance across zones 1-4.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff; approve leave and conduct evaluations.
• Direct maintenance tasks, recruit and communicate with HR on disciplinary matters.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and equipment use; monitor budgets.
