Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Business Operations Supervisor within Student Health Services to oversee daily administrative, fiscal, and facilities operations at the main campus and satellite locations. The role leads staff in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management, and manages budgeting, purchasing, vendor contracts, MOUs, and compliance with UC policies.

On-site work is required, with standard 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree related to the field or equivalent experience.
• Strong supervisory skills including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Experience with conflict resolution and providing technical guidance.
• Design and oversight of workflows using digital tools.
• Monthly financial reconciliation and budget reporting.
• Knowledge of facility security and health-safety standards.
• Project management for facilities initiatives.
• Familiarity with UC fiscal policies and internal controls.
• Administrative review of vendor contracts and MOUs with Purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and workflows in the Business Operations department.
• Direct supervision of Facility/Financial Assistants including onboarding and development.
• Lead regular team meetings and provide guidance for collaboration.
• Design training programs on new policies and procedures.
• Escalate complex operational issues to the Director as needed.
• Oversee purchasing lifecycle and PO processing.
• Ensure adherence to fiscal policies and internal controls.
• Prepare monthly financial reconciliations and budget summaries.
• Administer vendor contracts and MOUs with Purchasing and Contracts.
• Coordinate with the Director on accounting systems for the health center.
• Serve as primary contact for facility repairs, security, and access control.
• Lead facility projects with campus planning and status updates.
