Job summary

Northeast State Community College is seeking a Grounds Technician in the Plant Operations department to maintain campus grounds and assist with equipment maintenance for grounds, custodial, and motor vehicle operations. Responsibilities include mowing, planting, pruning, applying fertilizers and pesticides, operating tractors and mowers, and supporting snow removal and outdoor repairs.

A valid driver’s license is required; travel to all campus sites is requested.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Preferred candidates have 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Mow and maintain lawns, beds, and sidewalks across campus.
• Mix soils, prune plants, and apply fertilizers or pesticides.
• Operate tractors, mowers, and other grounds equipment safely.
• Assist in snow removal from parking lots and sidewalks.
• Maintain outdoor fixtures, signage, and other exterior elements.
• Support custodial and motor vehicle operations as needed.
