Job summary

Montgomery College, Rockville, is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to keep campus grounds clean, safe, and welcoming. The role involves mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and debris removal, plus painting curbs and operating campus vehicles and equipment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience. A Class C Driver’s License is required, with snow removal duties during winter months and support for events as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• 1 year of related grounds maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of lawn equipment operation and plant care.
• Must possess and maintain a Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds to provide a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.
• Landscape tasks: mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and debris removal.
• Paint curbs and operate campus vehicles and equipment.
• Perform snow and ice removal during inclement weather.
• Assist with events and emergencies as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
