Job summary

The University of Indianapolis is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus grounds, athletic complexes, parking lots, and surrounding properties. This full-time, non-exempt role supports a clean, safe, and attractive campus environment.

Responsibilities include mowing, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, and seasonal maintenance, with snow/ice removal as needed. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are required, along with passing a physical and drug screening.

Qualifications

• At least one year of groundskeeping or related field experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Follow the guidance and direction of supervisor(s).
• Care for and upkeep of all outdoor areas on campus.
• Prunes perennials, shrubs and trees using appropriate techniques.
• Landscape installation and renovation.
• Mowing, edging, line trimming.
• Fertilization and pesticide applications to turf and ornamental areas.
• Set up for sports events; includes clean up during and after games.
• Maintain and operate a campus-wide irrigation system.
• Maintain University vehicle fleet and equipment.
• Assist in snow/ice removal for campus.
