Job summary

The University of Indianapolis is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain campus grounds, athletic complexes, parking lots, and exterior spaces. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position with responsibilities across outdoor areas and landscape maintenance.

Essential duties include mowing, edging, pruning, fertilizer/pesticide applications, irrigation system operation, and snow/ice removal. The role supports campus facilities and requires adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in groundskeeping or related field is required.
• Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used for planting, cultivating, and trimming trees, shrubs, ground cover, flowers and grasses.

Responsibilities

• Care and upkeep of all outdoor areas on campus.
• Mow, edge, line trim, prune perennials, shrubs and trees.
• Maintain and operate campus irrigation system.
• Assist in snow/ice removal for campus.
• Follow supervisor guidance and safety practices.
• Other duties and special projects as required.
