Job summary

Western Carolina University is seeking a Grounds Worker - Multiple Positions to maintain large campus landscapes across Cullowhee, NC. The role focuses on fertilization, pruning, mowing, and general grounds maintenance with a 6:30am-3:00pm schedule.

Candidates must have a valid NC Driver's License and be able to obtain a Class B CDL within six months, plus eligibility to work in the United States. This is a permanent full-time position with benefits including tuition waivers and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Able to perform medium to heavy physical work.
• Experience with fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides.
• Valid NC Driver's License; ability to obtain Class B CDL within 6 months.
• Ability to pass state pesticide testing within 1-year probation.

Responsibilities

• Apply fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides.
• Prune trees and shrubs.
• Mow and weed large turf areas.
• Operate grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
