Job summary

Cochise College is seeking a qualified Grounds Technician II to maintain campus grounds including landscaping, irrigation, and hardscaping. The role supports the Building and Grounds team to keep the campus safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years in grounds maintenance with experience in irrigation systems and landscape care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years related experience in grounds maintenance, irrigation systems, landscaping and/or hardscaping.
• Preference for ability to communicate in Spanish and English.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs grounds installation, assessment and maintenance; monitors health and appearance of plants and lawns; prunes and removes dead plantings; maintains lawns and athletic fields.
• Installs, maintains and repairs sprinkler/irrigation systems; inspects components and ensures proper operation.
• Assists with fertilizer and herbicide application; handles chemicals safely and stores them per regulations.
• Operates tractors, turf equipment and landscape tools; performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
