Job summary

George School in Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to manage in-house grounds tasks, athletic field upkeep, and event setup. The role includes operating vehicles, assisting contractors, and occasional Saturday duties to support campus programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience with general grounds maintenance.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate vehicles and shop equipment.
• Knowledge of turf management, grounds maintenance and horticulture.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Pesticide Private Applicator’s License is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-house grounds jobs (i.e. mowing lawns, raking, pulling leaves, collecting trash, etc.) alone or as part of a grounds team.
• Assist grounds and paving contractors when needed.
• Prepare and maintain athletic fields to support the school’s programs.
• Clear and clean gutters, downspouts and drains.
• Assist with snow and ice removal.
• Operate vehicles and equipment as required for grounds and paving jobs.
• Provide setup for special events such as Alumni Day and Commencement activities.
• Move tables and chairs as required supporting campus programs and activities.
• Participate in regular trash pick-up, disposal and recycling.
• Available for Saturday morning work detail on a rotating basis.
