Job summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking Construction Equipment Operators in Campus Operations to operate large vehicles and support snow/ice removal on campus in Buffalo, NY.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, routine maintenance, and operating backhoes, dump trucks, loaders, and other grounds equipment. CDL B and tanker endorsement are required, with at least one year of related experience and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid class B Commercial Driver's License without an air brake restriction.
• Must have tanker endorsement by time of employment.
• One year of full-time experience operating equipment in grounds/roads/parks maintenance or similar.
• Authorized to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Operate large garbage packers, backhoes, dump trucks, loaders, tractors, and snow/ice removal equipment for at least one third of the work time.
• Assist with spraying, turf repair, fertilizing, grass cutting, pruning and planting projects.
• Drive large delivery vehicles, load/unload, and transport freight.
• Perform routine service on motorized/non-motorized vehicles including lubrication and fluid checks.
• Move cargo on and off vehicles and remove snow/ice from paved surfaces.
• Perform manual labor to maintain campus grounds.
