Follett Higher Education in University Park, PA seeks a Department Manager General Merchandise to lead the General Merchandise team and drive sales while ensuring excellent customer service.

You will supervise staff, coordinate RTV activities, manage displays, and partner with store leadership to execute promotions and optimize inventory. Strong communication and prior supervisory experience are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail supervisory experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.

Responsabilités

• Supervises department employees, including hiring and training.
• Oversees RTV and receiving processes per Home Office rules.
• Assists customers and helps with product selection.
• Manages special orders and communicates with customers.
• Promotes hassle-free customer service and solution-based selling.
• Partners with store staff and campus groups for events and promotions.
• Conducts daily store walkthroughs for stock and service levels.
• Handles in-store merchandising and liaises with Planner.
• Creates displays and executes markup/markdown strategies.
• Monitors promotions, inventory levels, and sales trends.
• May maintain website content and fulfill online orders.
• Responds to questions and resolves escalated issues as needed.
