Job summary

Roanoke College seeks a Foodservice Assistant Manager for the Cavern dining operation. The role is a working supervisor position, supervising evening shifts and Saturdays, ensuring high-quality hospitality and safe food handling.

Responsibilities include staff training, cash handling, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and college policies. Nights/weekends availability and ServSafe certification within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• Nights and weekend availability required.
• Ability to meticulously maintain a clean and safe food service environment.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to problem solve and work independently.
• Must be organized and self motivated.
• Positive communication with guests and co workers is essential.
• Required to obtain ServSafe certification within 6 months of hire.
• 1+ years prior supervisory experience in hospitality and/or food service is required.
• Quick Service Restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represents Roanoke College with courtesy and respect in all interactions.
• Opens or closes store operations in the manager's absence.
• Assist staff in daily operations and maintain recipes, inventory and food handling.
• Provide enthusiastic, friendly customer service.
• Teach, train and mentor staff including student workers.
• Process deposits and handle payments using cash, credit, meal plans, etc.
