Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, seeks Foodservice team members to support on-campus dining seven days a week. The role requires quick, courteous customer service, safe food handling, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Training may be provided in person or online; positions begin mid-August 2026, with varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and be comfortable using computers and dining software.

Competenze

• Ability to read and effectively communicate in English.
• Must complete required training, which may be offered in-person or online.
• Ability to work with computer hardware and software, including receiving emails, use a timeclock.
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required. Preference given to applicants with culinary, hospitality, business, or similar higher education or professional credentials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Ability to work a varied schedule, including morning, evening, weekends, and holidays.

• Cleaning & maintaining equipment for stewardship and safe operation.
• Handling, stocking, and rotating food, supplies, equipment, and chemicals commonly used in foodservice as needed or directed.
• Hot and cold food preparation and production.
• Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures.
• Perform daily and recurring cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Ability to understand and respond to communicated food allergy and special diet needs.
• Demonstrate effective teamwork to enable highly efficient foodservice operations.
• Use of computer hardware (i.e. tablets and/or cash registers) and foodservice software.
• Follow and enforce policies and procedures established by Dining Service Management.
• Perform other required duties.
