Job summary

Saint John’s University’s Culinary Services invites applications for a full-time (0.80 FTE), benefit eligible position of Food Production II. This role is responsible for producing all regular meals in the Abbey and SJU dining areas and for campus-wide catered functions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified in food safety, or ability to achieve certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Production of all regular and special meals for Abbey residents and campus students.
• Production of specialty food items for campus‑wide catered functions.
• Produce high‑quality, attractively presented food at all times.
• Train and supervise food production student staff.
• Maintain standardized recipes and update production sheets.
• Record food supplies and manage production planning.
• Uphold sanitation and safety standards in all work areas.
• Operate or learn to operate all production equipment.
• Attend required department meetings and training sessions.
• Contribute ideas for new menus, cost savings, and service improvements.
