Job summary

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is seeking a Coordinator of Fitness to manage a comprehensive fitness program for students, ensuring safety and high-quality services on-site in El Paso, TX.

You will supervise a team of fitness professionals, develop classes and events, and manage budgets and facilities to promote a healthy lifestyle on campus. Strong leadership and collaboration with campus entities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Education, Sport Management, Exercise Science, Outdoor Recreation, or related field.
• One year of professional experience related to the assigned program area.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
• Certification through NSCA, ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or NASM must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a diverse group of fitness professionals and student employees.
• Create, maintain, and modify Fitness class schedules.
• Develop safety and risk management procedures for fitness programs.
• Lead workshops and coordinate CPR/First Aid trainings with certified instructors.
• Oversee facility usage and budgeting for fitness programs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Education, Sport Management, Exercise Science, Outdoor Recreation, or related field

One year of professional experience related to the assigned program area

Group fitness instructor or personal trainer certification through NSCA, ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or NASM

Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
