Qualifications

This 10-week internship program, (June 7, 2027-August 13, 2027), offers a set hourly rate of $33.00 an hour and a potential pathway to full-time opportunities with Fannie Mae. This position has multiple openings and may be based in our Washington, DC (Midtown Center) or Reston, VA (Reston Town Center) office.

As a Finance intern, you will do more than observe the business - you will contribute to meaningful work that helps Fannie Mae support the stability and affordability of housing in America. THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Qualifications
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Academic achievement (preferred GPA of 3.3 or higher)
  • Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028
  • Finance majors with coursework and/or experience in information systems or data science are preferred
  • Strong analytical background
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to contribute to a team atmosphere
  • Self‑starter, strong business acumen, and results focused
  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written
  • Fluency and aptitude with technology applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CoPilot Studio, and SharePoint
  • Proficiency with ChatGPT, including building agents, skills, projects, etc.

For most roles, employees are expected to work onsite on a regular basis at their designated office location. In‑office work cadence is determined by your manager. Proximity within a reasonable commute to your designated office location is preferred unless the job is noted as open to remote.
