Job summary

Indian Creek School seeks a Facilities Maintenance Associate to operate and care for the campus buildings, grounds, athletic and performing arts facilities, and infrastructure. The role performs preventive maintenance, handles work orders via FMX, and supports safety checks and event setup.

The position is 12 months, full-time, with an 8-hour shift (6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. or similar) and potential variations. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in building or facilities maintenance or a related trade.
• Experience in a school or other occupied campus is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and complete work to a high standard.
• Comfortable using digital systems, including Outlook, FMX, HVAC and lighting controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with students, colleagues, families, visitors and vendors.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements.
• Successful completion of required federal and state background checks and MSDE Employment History Review.

Responsibilities

• Check spaces, doors, and entry points at start of day and throughout shift; correct routine issues and report safety concerns.
• Perform minor carpentry, patching, painting, and basic repairs; replace lamps and filters.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and use FMX to manage work orders and documentation.
• Assist with contractor access, site preparation, and follow-up for outside repairs as directed by the Director of Facilities.
• Set up and break down for assemblies, events, and facility rentals; coordinate around class schedules.
• Support snow, ice, severe weather, and facility emergencies; assist drills and campus operations.
• Follow safety procedures; secure areas around students; complete required training.
