Job summary

Motlow College is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform basic maintenance and repairs across seven campuses under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. The role covers electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and general repair tasks, with travel to extended campuses as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of building maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years’ building maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a background investigation, including a favorable motor vehicle record and criminal background report.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and completes work orders for various maintenance projects and requests in a timely manner.
• Performs basic plumbing maintenance, including repairing faucets, caulking fixtures, running clogged drain lines and rebuilding & replacing plumbing fixtures.
• Performs electrical repairs, including replacing light fixtures, lightbulbs and electrical receptacles and switches.
• Prepares, primes and paints interior and exterior building surfaces.
• Installs and repairs drywall, glass, handrails, window blinds, ceiling tile, carpet/floor tiles, baseboard molding, etc.
• Maintains and repairs doors, locks, closers.
• Repairs or replaces defective equipment.
• Travels to extended campuses as assigned to perform routine and preventative maintenance and to assess condition of buildings/systems.
