Job summary

Educational Empowerment Group is seeking a facilities maintenance staff to prepare and maintain classrooms, offices and common areas for daily operations and events.

The role involves cleaning, minor repairs, and safety-focused tasks with collaboration across school staff. Candidates should have a high school diploma, physical fitness for lifting, and a readiness to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma at minimum.
• Experience operating industrial maintenance equipment and following safety practices.
• Good physical health with ability to lift 75 pounds and work at heights.
• Two years’ experience in a school environment preferred.
• Criminal history check and TB test required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, and administrators.
• Ability to meet established deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Arrange furnishings and equipment for meetings, classroom activities and events.
• Attend in-service trainings for new procedures.
• Clean facilities to maintain sanitary, safe, and attractive environments.
• Evaluate situations and direct to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Inspect facilities to ensure safe operations and address repairs.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for facility upkeep.
• Paint interior spaces to keep facilities attractive.
• Repair furniture and equipment to keep them safe and functional.
• Respond to immediate safety or operational concerns to resolve issues.
• Secure facilities and grounds to minimize damage and liability.
• Assist other staff to support their work.
• Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by Principal or Management.
