Job summary

Union College is seeking a Building Maintainer to ensure the optimal functioning, safety, and appearance of campus facilities. The role includes routine maintenance and repairs of plumbing, electrical, and structural fixtures, plus minor carpet and vinyl tile replacements.

Qualifications

• Two years of general maintenance experience in a large educational, healthcare, or residential complex, or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience.
• Must be safety conscious and able to understand written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Facility maintenance and repair: routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, and structural fixtures; repairs/replacement of windows; minor carpet and vinyl tile replacements.
• Utilities management: reads meters, troubleshoots issues, ensures proper functioning of utilities for a safe environment.
• Collaboration and logistics: assists with set-up tasks and furniture moves; flexible scheduling including weekends; works with team to execute logistics plans.
