Job summary

The Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) is seeking a hands-on facility operations leader to manage campus maintenance, grounds, and custodial teams. You will drive preventive maintenance, oversee repairs, and coordinate with leadership on capital projects and budgets.

Ideal candidates bring five+ years of leadership in building operations, strong communication, and experience with CMMS to deliver reliable, safe, and efficient campus operations. This is a full-time on-site role at Mia.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of hands-on leadership in building maintenance and operations.
• Experience planning and scheduling complex repairs and preventative maintenance for multiple facilities.
• Ability to respond to after-hours and weekend emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise repair and maintenance of buildings, custodial and grounds operations.
• Assess campus condition and performance; drive scheduled and preventive work.
• Develop service levels and prioritise work orders; implement a robust PM program.
• Create reports on efficiency; manage CMMS and review service contracts.
• Lead staff hiring, scheduling, coaching, performance reviews, and safety training.
• Track budget related to repairs and maintenance; manage procurement of parts and supplies.
• Coordinate with leadership on capital projects and communicate plans to Mia staff.
