Job summary

Stanford University’s Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) seeks a District Supervisor/Facilities Manager to lead the engineering team, ensuring 100% uptime and cost-efficient operation of campus building systems.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets and service contracts, coordinate with vendors, and drive preventive maintenance across electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least two years of facilities supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field required.
• Two years of facilities operations and maintenance supervision experience.
• Knowledge of environmental and safety rules and policies.
• Ability to manage service contracts and budgets and to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance development.
• Oversee operation of building systems: fire/life safety, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
• Coordinate with district staff, utilities, and vendors; oversee contractor activities.
• Develop preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance programs; manage budgets.
