Job summary

University of Central Florida is hiring a Maintenance Technician II for the High Performance Work Team at the Orlando campus. The role supports operational maintenance and sanitation of campus buildings, troubleshoots issues, and handles customer requests to maintain a safe and attractive living and learning environment.

The position requires basic maintenance skills, a valid Class E driver’s license, and may involve driving to various locations on campus.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades and 3 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to operate and maintain maintenance tools safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with building automation systems is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs in plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry.
• Maintain and replace light bulbs, HVAC filters, ceiling tiles, and service plumbing fixtures.
• Assist with basic custodial tasks and maintain a clean, orderly environment.
• Create and update work orders, document labor hours, and report conditions to supervisor.
• Coordinate with central shops, contractors, and other departments during events.
