Job summary

John Knox Village is seeking a General Maintenance Associate to upkeep campus facilities for residents and staff. The role involves plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting and carpentry tasks with adherence to PRIDE standards.

Responsibilities include responding to work orders, performing general renovations, and ensuring safety compliance. Must have a high school diploma or GED with trade school, and a valid driver’s license with auto insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of trade school.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
• Missouri Class E driver’s license or equivalent within 30 days if vehicle use is required.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, handbooks and procedure manuals.
• Must complete asbestos awareness training within first six months of employment.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents and associates to ensure completion of work orders.
• Perform general renovation duties and responsibilities.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain machinery, equipment, and building systems.
• Dismantle machines and replace defective parts.
• Clean and lubricate machine parts as needed.
• Clear clogged drains and repair plumbing fixtures.
• Make repairs to campus buildings, apartments and houses.
• May hang ceiling fans and move furniture as required.
• Replace defective electrical components and fixtures.
• Repair and adjust windows and doors; re-key when needed.
• Haul or recycle trash.
• Participate in environmental training and respirator usage.
• Be on-call for emergencies, weekends, evenings, and snow removal.
