Job summary

Burritt on the Mountain in Rainsville, AL, is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee daily maintenance of buildings, grounds, and trails, and ensure safe, welcoming facilities for visitors and renters.

Working with the COO, you will lead maintenance staff, coordinate preventative maintenance, supervise contractors, and help prepare for events, festivals, and capital projects, while maintaining records and inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related technical cert preferred.
• 5+ years in facilities, maintenance, or grounds management.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Experience supervising maintenance staff.
• Knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
• Ability to read/write English for safety performance.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of campus buildings, grounds, roads, parking areas, utilities, trails, and outdoor spaces.
• Supervise maintenance staff and assign daily work priorities.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules for buildings, vehicles, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Ensure facilities are clean, safe, attractive, and operational for visitors and staff.
• Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance needs before they become larger issues.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate routine maintenance of Burritt's historic structures with the COO.
• Coordinate repairs with outside vendors.
• Oversee maintenance equipment, vehicle fleets, and inventory; coordinate contractors.
• Obtain estimates and assist the COO with maintenance and capital planning.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure projects meet specifications.
• Coordinate setup/breakdown for rentals, events, and programs.
• Assist with budget planning and capital priorities; maintain expenditure records.
• Participate in storm prep, emergency response, and campus recovery.
