Job summary

Minnesota State is seeking a Temporary Utility General Repair Worker to support campus operations at White Bear Lake. The role spans grounds and building maintenance, including minor trades work, snow removal, and equipment upkeep.

Under supervision, the GRW repairs buildings, equipment, locks, doors, and related hardware; assists skilled trades and assists with procurement of parts. The position runs 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday, starting ASAP.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general methods and practices across trades to assist licensed workers and repair machinery and facilities safely.
• Awareness of hazards and safety measures for trades work.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate and maintain grounds and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and assist others.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair of campus buildings, equipment, and grounds, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and equipment repairs.
• Plan and document repair work, complete work orders, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Set up and teardown for offices, classrooms, events, and campus spaces; maintain grounds as needed.
• Collaborate with facilities team and follow campus policies.
