Job summary

NC State University seeks a temporary Facilities Enhancement Technician to join the Student Centers team. The role focuses on cleaning and routine housekeeping duties across the Student Centers, with flexible scheduling and on-the-job training available.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, the ability to lift up to 60-90 lbs, and the stamina for standing long periods. Shifts cover early mornings to late evenings, with weekends required for some shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and best practices in housekeeping.
• Ability to use standard housekeeping equipment such as vacuums to accomplish tasks.
• Ability to report discrepancies and respond to emergencies and inclement weather.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and peers.
• Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
• Provide outstanding customer service and remain professional under pressure.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift 60 lbs frequently and 90 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Use standard housekeeping equipment to vacuum, mop, scrub, dust, disinfect, and replenish as needed.
• Report discrepancies and respond to emergencies and weather.
• Complete assigned housekeeping projects.
• Inventory of the assigned area and moving/resetting furniture.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Work some shifts during adverse weather or snow/ice removal as directed.
• Support NC State Student Centers to meet business needs.
